Facebook Developer Circles provides opportunities for communities to collaborate, learn, and code with other local developers. Every year, Developer Circles partners with F8, Facebook's annual Developer Conference, to engage with and provide Developer Circle leads with tools to create and market F8 viewing meetups around the world.

We created the Developer Circles and F8 partnership identity and creative toolkit to provide leads with the tools they need to market and create these meetups, while ensuring our brand is consistently represented across the global developer community.

Understanding our audience paid off and resulted in the most successful Developer Circles F8 Meetups of all time, with over 71 global F8 Meetups created around the world.

A Combined Identity: We were tasked with combining the F8 identity, top row, with the existing Developer Circle identity, below.

Final Identity: We worked closely with brand leads and strategy to create and pitch the combined identity. After many iterations we chose to lean into the innovative F8 identity to capture our developer audience, who experts in tech themselves are always drawn to the latest tech trends.

The Toolkit: The final toolkit contained print, swag, social, and a complete guideline that incorporated strategic and relevant copy for the developer facing audience. Additionally after discovering the standard practice in years past had been providing Photoshop files to Developer Leads, who aren’t Photoshop experts and often don’t have budget for the software, we quickly pivoted and created a more accessible templated approach that allowed anyone to use the toolkit and create a branded meetup.
